BOWTI 17: Adding a custom body to a Metahuman

This guide will show you how to replace the body of a metahuman with a custom mesh.

  1. Import your selected animation or pose.
  2. Go in to the blueprint editor for your Metahuman actor.
  3. Delete the Torso, Legs and Feet from the components panel but leave the skeletal mesh for the Body.
  4. In the Materials slot for the body select reset to default.
  5. Find your new body asset in the unreal Content Browser and drag it in to the Metahuman Blueprint as a child of the Body Component.
  6. Use the Scale options and Snap options to resize the mesh and fit it under your Metahuman head.
