BOWTI 24: Creating Colour I.Ds for an asset

How to add an FBX into Quixel Mixer and Colour/ Texture selected parts of a single model based on the colour map

  1. Go in to Material Preview mode by pressing Z and selecting the bottom option or selecting it from the top right of the Viewport.
  2. Go in to Edit Mode for your object with Tab.
  3. Select one face of your chosen colour group and press Ctrl+L to select linked faces.
  4. Create a New Material and go in to the Material Properties in the right hand panel.
  5. Set the Material to Diffuse in the Surface section.
  6. Set the color of your selection in the Color value.
  7. Click Assign to link that Material to your selection.
  8. Repeat these steps for the rest of your chosen color groups.
