How to check if your computer can run Unreal Engine

A guide to checking your computer's minimum requirements for running Unreal Engine.

  1. In order to run Unreal Engine and all of it’s processes smoothly your PC will need to have certain specs. Here is a run-through of what you will need as a minimum to get you started.
  2. You will need:
    1. A 64-bit Windows 7 or the latest version operating system,
    2. Quad-core Intel or AMD processor in 2.5 GHz or faster,
    3. 8 GB RAM, and
    4. DirectX 11 or 12 compatible graphics card.
  3. Check your Graphics card by searching ‘Device Manager’ in the windows taskbar.
  4. Go to ‘Display Adapters’ -this will show you the graphics card you have installed.
  5. Check the rest of your system by searching ‘About’ in the taskbar. This will show you your processor and RAM.
